Omar the Orchid

This rambunctious cast of characters was created by Laura Kerbyson.

The characters and stories are a work in progress - they are the seeds in the creative comedic garden.

They will eventually be animated.

Premise for the Stories and Script

Omar the Orchid wants his flower garden to grow and prosper. The garden has been on the decline ever since the farmer’s wife died. The farmer puts all his attention into the vegetable garden and has neglected the flowers. Omar knows that the only way flowers can thrive is with love and attention - peace and happiness.

“Mary, Mary quite contrary how does your garden grow? With sugar and spice and everything nice…”

“Yeah right,” says Will the Weed. “He, he, he ...flowers grow with fertilizer. Do you people have any idea what that stuff is made with? I’ll tell you what you grow with…”

Will the Weed has other plans. He wants to break the lawnmower so that the weeds can take over the garden. The problem is the lawnmower is crazy. He is Mad Mower that chews up everything in his path. He’s a demon to be reckoned with. He loves to chase the flowers and wants to cut their pretty little heads off. He’s not happy unless the grass is short.

How will Omar save the garden? Or will Will the Weed prevail? Or will they all just end up being eaten by the dog? Can anyone stop that hole digging senseless varmint?

“Don’t look now flowers but it looks like rain. Rover just finished his entire bowl of water…”

Can we survive Omar’s jokes? Well, I guess you’ll just have to see the movie to find out.
